Alsace and the Vosges Mountains in France plus the Black Forest in Germany on a touring map at 1:200,000 from Kümmerly + Frey prominently highlighting numerous locations worth visiting, with a separate extensive index booklet attached to the map cover. Centered approximately on Strasbourg, the map provides excellent coverage of the Rhine region along both sides of the border, extending in France west to Remiremont to include the whole of the Vosges Mountains with the Route des Crêtes. Coverage within Germany extends much further north, beyond Heidelberg to Worms, and east to Stuttgart. The map also covers the north-western part of Switzerland with Zurich. Numerous locations worth visiting are prominently highlighted. The map also shows the region’s national/natural parks. Topography is indicated by relief shading, with plenty of names of peaks, forests, etc. Road network shows numbers of motorway junctions, services, seasonal closures, steep gradients, etc. Driving distances are marked on main and many local routes. The map highlights scenic roads and, in addition to Route des Crêtes, indicates numerous other special sightseeing routes including the French-German Tourist Circuit, Picturesque Villages of Alsace, etc. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 1’ intervals. Extensive index is in a separate booklet attached to the map cover, which also provides a small route planning map of France and basic driving regulations. Map legend includes English.
